Miley Ray Cyrus was born Destiny Hope Cyrus on November 23, 1992 in Franklin, Tennessee and raised in Thompson's Station, Tennessee to Tish Cyrus & Billy Ray Cyrus. She has 5 siblings: two half brothers, one half sister, and a younger sibling and brother. The parents named their daughter Miley in the hope to see her achieve a lot. Miley was her childhood nickname due to the cheerfulness of Miley. Her father was a Democratic politician who was named Ron Cyrus. Cyrus began her education at Heritage Elementary School in Tennessee. The family she was born in moved from Tennessee to Toronto Canada at the age of eight years old. Billy Ray Cyrus took on an appearance in Doc (2001) as a lead on in the TV show. Cyrus decided to begin acting at that time. Her father played her in Doc (2001). Tim Burton's Big Fish (2003), where she starred in a smaller role, was also a success. Cyrus was the lead character on Hannah Montana (2007), a Disney TV series about an unassuming young woman who lives an alternate life of a star. Her father also appeared alongside her. The performance was huge and record sales as well as sell-out shows and merchandising deals soon followed. Cyrus was a teenager-making star. Following the success of Hannah Montana (2006), Cyrus moved into other roles - including her role as Ronnie Miller in The Last Song (2010) as well as Lola in LOL (2012) alongside Demi Moore.
